Above and below, At this point this pattern is still being called WILLIAMSBURG. Eventually, this would change to Queen Anne. Williamsburg Shell would not be introduced until 1970.

This counter top display was offered to dealers to feature Stieff patterns.

There is a reference to Union Carbide’s famous “Invicta Process” but I have not been able to find any material on what this intailed. All I do know is that it was a tarnish proofing of some kind, to keep the spoons from needing polishing in the store.

Interestingly, The Princess pattern is not shown here.



YES! Stieff made SILVER PLATED WARES for WILLIAMSBURG






As noted in the patterns section... Stieff also made plate flatware for Colonial Williamsburg for use in the various Taverns and Restaurants. Over the years these pieces were stolen by patrons and now show up on ebay, sometimes mistakenly identified as Sterling Silver, but lack the STERLING mark on the back of the handle.
