1959 Flatware price list

(October)

This vibrant  red, white and black 1959 price list echos the late 1950’s culture. Red waves in the Japanese style adorn several pages including the one for “Silver Surf”

All patterns prices are given, and with the exception of Princess, photos of the patterns are displayed.

In inches the size  is 5 & 5/8th tall by 3 & 1/8th wide unopened and when opened 11 tall and 12 & 3/8th wide.

If you are wondering about the Williamsburg Shell pattern, it will not be introduced until 1970

The RT stood for Raleigh Tavern, an Inn on the grounds of Colonial Williamsburg

Personna introduced in 1959

Small black line on bottom right is lettering from the fold out inside section

Silver Surf introduced in 1956

Diamond Star introduced in 1958

The  Salad Serving Fork from the Silver Surf pattern was certainly a departure

from the traditional shape used for many years by Stieff (second from right)

The inside fold out shows patterns and prices

I had to scan this in two parts, so there is a slight  offset on the right third of the photo.

The writing on the bottom right corner says

Look at the difference between prices when compared to the Princess pattern.

Princess is often double, triple or in the case of the salt spoon four times the price of Stieff Rose.
