1922 Stieff’s Silver

for the Bride and for Christmas Catalog

Fall 1922

Spectacular Period Catalog w/ Wonderful Photo of a New Bride  About to Tip the Whole Chest of Silver Over on The Floor.

What a wonderful silver chest. It looks like a treasure chest of silver.

Note that PURITAN is not shown in the group. Also Clinton is only shown with one choice.. that puts this catalog in Fall of 1922.

This is after the Clinton A&B models were dropped from regular production.

Also note that Plated Blades and Stainless Steel Blades were being offered

Ok, other than me... who else needs a dozen Oyster Forks?

(Baltimore was the Oyster Capital of the world so oysters would have been served regularly)

Tossed into the catalog are a few items that the Bride might suggest to her groom as gifts for his Best Man and Groomsmen.

The sterling silver slipper buckles are for the ladies.

The tax shown is a 5% tax.  This was a national LUXURY TAX

(As seen at the time in the game of Monopoly)

The bottom line is hard to read, It says...

NOTE: Out-of-town mail orders given special attention. If unable to fill orders illustrated, may we substitute”   Prices subject to change without notice.

Three initials engraves free of charge on silverware ordered of us.

The size of this Bride’s Catalog is 7.5 inches wide by 10 inches tall.

While this catalog appears to be complete, I find it odd that there is no address for The Stieff Company listed.  Perhaps this was used in the one and only Stieff store (at the time), or Stieff assumed everyone knew where they were located.  Most Stieff material has an address and notation that mail orders were sent to Dept. M at 17 N. Liberty Street, Baltimore

This is the order form that came with the catalog.
