This part is not related to The Stieff Company,  but it does help us reflect back on a more gracious time where a service of sterling silver was required in certain social circles.

Most of us do not live a life that uses sterling silver at each meal, and few of us hold afternoon tea parties anymore.  But it is nice to reflect back on a time less hurried when entertaining could be elegant or casual, but still requiring a full service of sterling silver.


As dated and quaint as this piece is, there is still some good advice here. Especially in the “how to care for your silver” section.


And haven’t we all wondered what the correct size of the napkin

at an afternoon tea should be?
